Since 2021, the Coalition worked on many projects. Here are the ones that keep us busy right now.

Montreal

City of Montreal

In 2022, the Coalition made representations to the City of Montreal that led to the City signing the C40 Good Food Cities Declaration, a commitment to promote a plant-strong diets and combat food waste. One year on, we are continuing our representations to the City of Montreal to ensure that concrete steps are taken to meet this commitment.

Plant-based Cities Movement

The Plant-Based Cities Movement combines research, education, and advocacy to help cities and institutions adopt plant-based food procurement policies to lower food emissions.

Montreal SPCA

In its Guide de propositions de réforme for provincial political parties, the Montreal SPCA includes in its recommendations the urgent implementation of public food policies promoting dietary transition.  Section III of the Guide is devoted to this issue, highlighting the public health and environmental benefits as well as the need for such a transition. 

Montreal SPCA

The Montreal SPCA has launched a campaign inviting Quebecers to call on the provincial government to introduce public procurement policies that include more plant-based foods.

Hydroponic Vegetable Farm

WAP

World Animal Protection is pushing the Canadian government to implement policies that phase-out inhumane farming systems by reducing antibiotic use in farming, supporting more plant-based agriculture, and promoting increased plant-based food consumption.
